This 1996 Land Rover Defender 90 is a left-hand drive example that was imported to the US from the Netherlands Antilles in 2021, and cosmetic refurbishments since 2020 have included a repaint in metallic gray and a refreshing of the interior using quilted brown leather. The 2.5-liter 300Tdi turbodiesel inline-four was overhauled in 2023, and it is linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Additional equipment includes a locking center differential, 16? steel wheels, disc brakes, a beige soft top, a Puma-style hood, a touchscreen Alpine stereo, replacement instrumentation, a wood-rim steering wheel, a wood-lined rear cargo area, and inward-facing rear jump seats. Purchased by its current owner on BaT in April 2024, this Defender 90 is now offered on dealer consignment in California with a clean Montana title.
The truck was finished in Charcoal Grey from the factory, and a repaint in the current shade of metallic gray is said to have been carried out in 2020. Exterior details consist of a Heritage-style grille, a Puma-style hood, a beige soft top, windshield vents, Union Jack fender badges, body-color wheel-arch extensions, and checker-plate trim on the front fenders and behind the rear wheels. Gray-finished 16? steel wheels wear BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM3 tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel power-assisted discs.
The front bucket seats have been reupholstered in brown leather with quilting that is repeated on the center armrest, door-panel inserts, and inward-facing rear jump seats. Matching brown leather also covers the center console and dashboard, and additional appointments include color-coordinated carpeting, a wood-lined rear cargo area, a heater, A Marshall speaker system, and an Alpine touchscreen infotainment unit with Bluetooth connectivity.
The wood-rim steering wheel frames replacement instrumentation installed under current ownership and consisting of a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for charging status, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 22 miles, with total mileage unknown.
The 2.5-liter 300Tdi turbodiesel inline-four was overhauled in 2023, and the turbocharger and diesel pump were rebuilt at that time.
Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, a two-speed transfer case, and a locking center differential.
